Kisubi Brothers inaugurate decade of development

The school is one of the projects of the Decade of Development, which the Brothers declared in preparation for the centenary of their education ministry and presence in East Africa

The Catholic Brothers of Christian Instruction, also called the Brothers of Kisubi, have launched a new college. The school, Saint Mary’s College Kabojja (Smacka) will be a core school for boys and girls. The school is one of the projects of the Decade of Development, which the Brothers declared in preparation for the centenary of their education ministry and presence in East Africa.

The school was launched by the state minister of education and sports, Rosemary Senninde, who represented Hon. Janet Museveni. Delivering her remarks during the function, Senninde thanked the Brothers of Kisubi for their solid commitment to the Christian education of the youths. Senninde later asked parents to find time for their children and also, to give them proper moral instructions. Bishop Baharagate Celebrates the thanksgiving mass

The Provincial Superior of the Brothers, the Very Rev. Bro. Peter Kazzekulya asked the alumni of the Brothers to lead the fundraising drive for the construction of the new school.

The function started with a thanksgiving mass, which was presided over by the Bishop Emeritus of Hoima, Edward Albert Baharagate, who is also an alumnus of the Brothers.

 

The function was also graced by the District Chairman of Wakiso, Matia Lwanga Bwanika, the Chairman of the Board of St. Mary’s College, Kisubi, Prof. Edward Kirumira and the President of the school’s alumni, Engineer Joseph Oriono Eyatu.

There was also a mini-fundraising function, during which Senninde donated sh10m towards the project of Saint Mary’s College, Kabojja.
