The two suspects were arrested by police last week at Kololo after they were found with 250Kg of Ivory in the car.

The two suspects who were arrested for smuggling 250Kg of ivory have pleaded not guilty to the matter.

Ibrahim Onzima and Muhamad Kulabare denied smuggling ivory as it is alleged by the state.

The two suspects were arrested by police last week at Kololo after they were found with 250Kg of Ivory in the car.

The two were nabbed looking for a Chinese investor to buy their ivory and so detectives from National Resource Conservation Network (NRCN) enlisted a Chinese national, who posed as a buyer for ivory before plain clothed police detectives arrested them.

"It's a big catch we recovered a quarter a tone of ivory," Julius Odeke, Media Liaison Officer, National Resource Conservation Network said.

The two suspects are coming back to court to apply for bail.

The case is before Buganda road Court Chief magistrate Eremie Mawanda
