State minister of disaster preparedness Musa Ecweru escaped unharmed after angry residents attacked him at Kazinga, Rwentuha sub-county in Kyegegwa district.
Ecweru, a team from the Office of the Prime Minister and the ministry of lands were in Kyaka 1 to survey and demarcate land to settle refugees who were recently relocated from Sango Bay in Rakai district to Kyegegwa.
The attack by the residents prompted the Police to deploy heavily at the meeting venue.
It is reported that during a meeting with leaders at the district headquarters, Ecweru clashed with the district vice-chairman, Daniel Muhango.
This angered the residents, who kept telling him to shut up as he spoke. The district Police commander, Joel Tubanone, intervened to calm the residents.
