Muhammad Athio is new Heathens coach

Heathens Rugby Club has appointed Muhammad Athio as their head coach for the next two years.

The announcement was made on Tuesday by the club management to replace Robert Sseguya.

Athio's appointment follows put pressure on the management by players who cited a lack of respect by the coach.

Club vice chairman Philip Mboijana and players committee chairman Obrian Tindi made the announcement at a media briefing at Kyadondo.

"We have come up with structures to uplift the club and these changes in management have seen us appoint Muhammad Athio as Heathens head coach and Edgar Lamerigar as Buffaloes head coach," Tindi said.

"We have also appointed Sseguya as the club development coach while Tolbert Onyango is the club director of Rugby."

The officials also announced the return of their former players James Odongo, Gerald Ssenkambo and Charles Uhuru who have been playing for Kenya side Kabras.

Uhuru, Ssewankambo and Odongo return to Buffaloes a club they played for in 2014 before joining Kabras.
