Fifteen year-old, Siraj Munyagwa put up a daring and skilful performance to beat David Kizza and Peter Kyomuhendo to the Mountain Dew Skateboard Challenge over the weekend.

Munyagwa earned 109 points and sh2m in first position ahead of Kizza and Kyomuhendo in second and third positions at the climax of the inaugural countrywide Mountain Dew Skateboarding Tour at Garden City Rooftop.

"I was nervous all the way to the final being my first time participating in a competitive event but next year they should expect more because all I am going to try and work on my confidence especially amongst big crowds," said Munyagwa.

In the other category, Patrick Pabitk walked home with sh1m after winning the BMX category ahead of Meddy Katego and Tonny Lutaya who came in second and third positions respectively.

Mountain Dew brand manager Berna Kizza later assured fans and competitors a much bigger show ahead of the second edition.

"We have finally realized what can be associated with our brand and we plan to increase the prize money for the winners and also give the fans who are also our consumers a better show next season," she said.
