Soroti accident car and bike impounded

Police in Soroti Central Police Station have impounded a vehicle and motorcycle that were both involved in Thursday evening's accident at Arapai sub-county in Soroti district.

Details emerging from police indicate that the accident occurred after a motorcycle rammed into a double cabin vehicle belonging to Soroti University around the university junction.

The rider and the two women he was carrying sustained serious injuries and were rushed to Soroti Regional Hospital where they remain admitted.

Kyoga mid-eastern police spokesperon, Micheal Odongo says the vehicle was coming from Soroti town heading to the university while the overspeeding motorcycle was returning from Arapai market before losing control.

Odongo attributed the accident to reckless riding by the motorcyclist. Investigations are going on, he added.
