Having agonisingly lost last year's final to Aziz Damani, Pak Stallions made amends routing Afridi Xi in a 41 run win on Sunday night at Lugogo Cricket Oval.

Player of series, Roger Mukasa set the tone for his side hitting 57 runs from 45 balls before he was caught. Ali Malik weighed in with 38 runs off 20 balls as Stallions set 172 in 20 overs.

In the second innings of the meet, Afridi could not stand up to Stallion's bowling as they were dismissed for 131 despite Amir Cheema's resilient 45 runs.

"We wanted to get them out earlier enough after winning the toss but the plan failed and they really set a big target and our plan started running down" Afridi's Nasser Ahmed Nasser who made 3/40 in 5 overs.

"We couldn't stand the thought of losing another final. We wanted to undo the pain we got after losing in the last edition. I'm happy we achieved our objective" said Stallions' coach Ashfaq Mohammed whose side walked away with a trophy and sh10m

Chief guest John Nagenda who was also presented with a lifetime achievement award excited the crowd with his humour.

"This is really a big innovation in Ugandan cricket. It wasn't really like this when I started out playing in the 50s. I'm overwhelmed" he said.
