Masaka accident claims reserve officer's life

Another accident on Masaka road has claimed the life of a reserve force officer. Gustino Kijonjo, 65, attached to Nyendo Ssenyange Division in Masaka Municipality died on spot at Kyakumpi junction along the Masaka-Mbarara by-pass.
Kijonjo was knocked on Friday by a Swift Coach, registration number UAS 908Q, which was heading to Mbarara from Kampala. The bus was being driven by a one Muhammad Muwumuza.
Amon Ahimbisibwe, a motorcyclist on Kyakumpi stage attributed the accident to speeding.
Ahimbisibwa said that although the junction has humps, the bus driver did not reduce on the speed hence causing the accident.
The Regional Police Commander, Maxwel Ogwal confirmed the accident. He said that the bus has been impounded and taken to Masaka police station together with the driver.
