RIO DE JANEIRO - Ugandan boxer in Rio Ronald Serugo says he is determined to give his all despite his absence from the high-stage boxing.

He will fight Armenia's Abgaryan Narek in the round of 32 in the men's fly weight 52kg category.

Serugo was at the Beijing Olympic Games but constant boxing troubles saw Ugandan boxers being locked out of the London 2012 Olympic Games, forcing him to make a comeback in Rio Olympics.

"I have been training for this and I will give it my all. I would like to tell you that I am ready. I don't mind how he [opponent] will be. I am gonna go out for a win," he said confidently as he jabbed the air.

He will fight a man from a country famed for its boxing prowess.

"Whether it is the first round, or second round or third round, what I want is a result and advance to the next round and I will do it."

Serugo refused to comment on the next round where he might face a seeded boxer - if he advances from the preliminary round.

"Let's take it step by step and not rush."
