The need to transfer sensitive equipment and data from its current offices to a new location is worrying the senior Electoral Commission (EC) staff amidst a pending transfer program.

Deputy EC chairperson, Joseph Biribonwa told New Vision that the transfer of sensitive data and equipment is at the center of their discussion with the central government as they plan to relocate.

EC is expected to leave their current location along Jinja Road to pave way for the construction of a flyover in the area. EC has been ordered to leave their current premises by November.

Biribonwa said that government is yet to help them find new premises to rent. He also revealed that the earlier plan to build their own home has been paralyzed by lack of funds from the central government.
