The newly appointed Shell Rimula Rhinos coach Brian Makalama is focused on nurturing at least four players for the national team.

Makalama said that winning the national Sevens is not his target at the moment because he is still assessing the ability of players.

"What I want this year is to have four players on the national team," Makalama said.

"I am still getting to know the players, assessing their skill level, building confidence and self-esteem."

Makalama who replaced Wafula at Rhinos is a former Rugby Cranes forward's coach. He also coached the Women national 15s team, Pirates and Western Bulls of Kenya. He was also a Bungoma Sharks Director of Rugby.

Makalama's Rhinos are 8th in the national sevens circuit.
