KCCA health facilities get medical equipment

The equipment include nine maternity beds, nine weighing scales for both the adults and children, Blood Pressure machine, Ultra Sound equipment , hospital beds, medicine trollies among others were disturbed to three KCCA health facilities of Kitebi, Kawaala and Kisenyi.

Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) has received medical equipment worth sh400m. The equipment were donated by Interlaid Uganda. The equipment include nine maternity beds, nine weighing scales for both the adults and children, Blood Pressure machine, Ultra Sound equipment , hospital beds, medicine trollies among others were disturbed to three KCCA health facilities of Kitebi, Kawaala and Kisenyi.

 The Executive Director, InterAid Uganda, Scholastica Nasinyama  revealed that the refugees have increased in Kampala adding that at the moment there are 77,000 refugees in Kampala .

Nasinyama said InterAid has placed translators at all the KCCA health facilities to help refugees' get quality services.The KCCA executive director Jennifer Musisi who received the equipment on behalf of the health facility said that all KCCA health facilities need more partnership from other stakeholders in order to cater for the different patients who seek treatment.

Musisi explained that funding from government is not enough to cater for all patients. She said that equipment to cater for patients is not sufficient urging that all health facilities are getting more patients.   Kitebi health receive over 70 refugee patients daily.
