Nakasongola United 1-4 Uganda Cranes

Losing to a strong Cranes side was nothing compared to the joy and satisfaction that the fans in Nakasongola got being able to watch these players live.

Last season's Big league top scorer and Proline striker Edrisa Lubega (2), KCCA FC's Derrick Nsibambi and Onduparak FC's Mohamad Shaban were on target as a select Uganda Cranes side captained by Hassan Wasswa beat a select Nakasongola United side 4-1 in a fundraising game played at St. Lawrence Primary School play grounds Migyera on Saturday July 23, 2016.

Stephen Wokoroach scored for the host from a penalty after Halid Lwaliwa fouled Emma Mutebi midway the second half.

Thousands of fans from Migyera and the surrounding areas in Nakasongola district paid and watched the Cranes as they took on a local side in a game whose gate collection is going to be handed over to the hospital authorities to contribute towards the improvement of the maternity section at Nakasongola Health Center IV.

The hospital needs close to 120m shillings to purchase beds, mattresses, a scan machine and an ambulance to improve on services delivery.

"I don't care about the results, our boys tried against a strong opposition. Atleast I am happy that I have gotten a chance to finally physically see players like Joseph Ochaya and Hassan Wasswa whom I have always seen on TV." An excited fan commented after the game.

The national team players and officials were first taken on a guided tour around the hospital before taking to the field.
