In the last two decades, the government of Uganda has taken deliberate steps to develop sports in the country. As part of that effort, the country is already making big advances in Physical Education and Sports, (PES), development in respect of policy, institutional setups, capacity building and competitions advancement. However, the greatest challenge to the realization of a comprehensive, tangible and complete PES cycle is inadequate and or lack of facilities. The Government of Uganda has therefore set aside funds for development of sports facilities in the country and Ministry of Education and Sports, MoES, intends that, part of the proceeds of the support will be utilized to pay for the services of a consultant, to prepare the required designs, documentation and supervision of the works for the proposed Akii Bua Stadium, and later on of a contractor for the construction works.
