CHARGED WITH BEATING SUPPORTERS

Two days after five junior Police officers were charged over allegedly brutalising the supporters of opposition politician Dr Kizza Besigye in Kampala, the Police Disciplinary Court has added four senior officers and commanders to the list, to face disciplinary charges. The officers were arraigned before the court Wednesday evening over two counts.

So who are these officers? Find out on Page 3, where we bring you the details on this story.

Also on the same page, you will learn that the government has started the process of reviving the Uganda Airlines, which has been grounded for about 20 years.

50 TAXI STAGES CLOSED

It is hoped that the move will rid the city of the congestion from the messy public transport. Which ones are these points? Page 5, if you are interested in this . . .

KAHERU SPEAKS HELMETS

"At one point my tactic included shouting at them as they whizzed past: "Gundi; yambala elementi yo!", because the phrase always raises mirth in me. Like fulampeni and kabada and bulekyi-food (a bottle of which I once bought in Wandegeya just so I could say the word out loud repeatedly in conversation). I stopped shouting out the ‘Yambala elementi yo!' phrase when an easily startled fellow in Kitintale, I later learnt his name to be Muwamadi, responded by swerving almost into a perimeter wall."

RELATIONSHIPS & THE 'NETWORK PROBLEM'

"Network is still being used in many relationships, but this time, as a password or shield. It was also sewed into a camouflage and is worn by cheats who want to remain incognito. Many cheating partners use it as a password to avoid a slimy call when the main partner is around," writes Hilary Bainemigisha in his weekly article on relationships.
