Uganda Pearls have a chance to salvage some pride following humiliating losses against Great Britain and hosts Canada when they face Kenya in their final placement Round robin game today at the Softball City Stadium in Canada.

Kenya statistically are doing poorer at the championships having lost all three of their opening games against Peru, Italy and New Zealand and Uganda has beaten them in all friendlies in the past two years.

"We are better than Kenya and they know it. That's why they invited me to help them ahead of the championships" said national softball coach Allan Otim,

This will be Uganda's last placement game following a loss to Ecuador 4-2.

Despite being exposed on the pitch, Uganda has received overwhelming support from crowds at the championships and many have been requesting for autographs from the players.

"The girls are really loved here in spite of the performance and almost everyone here wants to take pictures with the team. The girls are also signing autographs" said Catharina Rauch, one of the team's coaches.
