Despite stretching the lead with three points after beating Club Klein over the weekend, Hot Pool Kingpin Alfred ‘Black Sheep' Gumikiriza insists that the fight for the Senior Pool League title is still very open.

"We still have bigger fights in our hands because all teams are good," proclaimed the former Skin Samona captain after his side beat stubborn Club Klein 14-11 on Sunday.

"It is still too early to talk of victory because even bottom placed teams like Mbogo are pulling good results. The championship is tough but as a team we are ready to fight on till the last moment," added Gumikiriza on Monday.

Gumikiriza and Humphrey Nsubuga were the men who stole the show in a hotly contested match for the Centenary Bank sponsored Ntinda side.

With the game still running neck-to-neck up to the 20th frame, Gumikiriza proved a saviour for Hot Pool with a break and finish to seal a win against Lincoln Mbabali.

Nsubuga later added another cracker when he humbled  Abubaker ‘Pacquaio' Nakabale to make it 14-11 for the Visitors.

The win kept Hot Pool atop the table with 33 points from 12 matches, three points adrift from Scrap Buyers and Champions Skin Samona.

Hot Pool women also went on top of the 16-team table with 33pts in 12 games after winning routing hosts 6-3.

Hot Pool still have a debt with Indigo, Icon and Anchors to conculde the first round of the 16-team event.

In Other matches, Icon Pool Club maintained their wonderful show after hammering CKI Pool Club 15-10 in Nansana. This follows their earlier route against defending champions Skin Samona last weekend.

Simon ‘Computer' Lubulwa was Icon's man of the match as he reeled four wins including a break-and-finish against Sula Matovu.
