New Vision has learnt that the tension is also forcing the Permanent Secretary Dr. Asuman Lukwago to throw in the towel.

After the recent swearing in ceremony of President Yoweri Museveni's newly appointed ministers, Ugandans thought it was time for the new team to work.

But the story in Ministry of Health is different as internal wrangles and tension among top officials are paralyzing service delivery which is threatening to tear it apart.

New Vision has learnt that the tension is also forcing the Permanent Secretary Dr. Asuman Lukwago to throw in the towel.

Lukwago is one of the best doctors in the country.

Lukwago's contract ends in January but he told New Vision that he will not be renewing it because of poor work environment at the ministry.

Lukwago and the newly appointed Minister of Health Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng have not been in good books. There are also reports that 42 top health officials have been shortlisted for sacking on the minister's orders which has amplified tension.

But Aceng told New Vision that she doesn't intend to cause the firing of anyone and is calling upon her nemesis to sit down with her to iron out their differences.
