How to grow plants in water
According to Maureen Nassozi, a gardener water plants can be grown in any container as long as it is a water proof and clear for roots to get sunlight however metal containers are not an option.

"Water is not friendly to metals, a plant in a metal container is at risk because it is likely to be damaged by rust from the container," says Nassozi.

She adds simply put a plant into a container or flower vase full of water. But the water should be changed every after a week to prevent fungi and mosquitos from breeding on it.

Nassozi, explains one just has to use tap water which has cooled a bit without chloroform. However, water from a well can also be used because it has the highest levels of minerals in it. "Water plants can be used as center tables regarding they are not in reach for children since they are delicate and can easily be destroyed," she says.

Joseph Katamba, land scape designer says put three quarters of florist foam into a container, add powdered or small pieces of charcoal to keep the water clear and smelling clean. Mix water with diluted fertilizers then put in your plant.

He, says just like any plant, water plants also need feeding in order to grow and flourish. They need nutrients and minerals. Katamba, adds water in the container has to be refilled once a month whenever it evaporates.
