Court in Fort Portal has dismissed with costs a petition filed by former Kamwenge District Woman MP candidate Grace Ninsiima.

Ninsiima petitioned court alleging that Dorothy Kabalisa who emerged winner in the February polls, had used another person's academic papers to be nominated.

She also alleged that the election was not held in accordance with the standards of Uganda's electoral body.

Delivering her verdict, lady Justice E.K Kabanda ruled that the accused possessed the minimum qualification of an Advanced Level Certificate and that the petitioner failed to produce evidence that Kabalisa used another person's academic papers to be nominated.

Court also dismissed claims that the polls were not held in accordance with the electoral commission's laws.

Speaking to the New Vision after winning the petition, MP Kabalisa who is serving her second term of office said that justice had prevailed.

"I have been an MP for the last five year. The papers I used for the first nomination are the same that I again used last year" Kabalisa said.

She stated that "the judge did it with justice and I expected it".

She also lauded her supporters for standing by her and pledged to work for the development of Kamwenge district.
