Lost and found

Last week, Deputy Speaker Jacob Oulanyah's rival, Simon Tolit Akecha was allegedly abductd from his home by unknown assailants.

The former MP, who is challenging Oulanyah's election in court At the time Tolit granted New Vision an interview hardly 10 hours after he had regained his freedom — allegedly dumped by his abductors near a playground in Kamwokya, a Kampala suburb, at around 3:00am on Saturday. UNRA probe pins Lands Ministry

The Commission of inquiry, led by Justice Catherine Bamugemereire into the alleged corruption, mismanagement and abuse of office at the Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) wants a complete overhaul of the Ministry of Land's departments of Registrar, Office of the Government Valuer and Surveying and Mapping.

Last week the report was handed over to President Yoweri Museveni with recommendations like ‘a complete overhaul being necessary' in the ministry. See page 5 for details on who the report has pinned.
