UCU Cardinals host Buikwe Red Stars in must win encounter

FUFA Women Elite League 

UCU Lady Cardinals coach Tony Membe has labeled his side's next game a must win encounter if they to have a chance of going to into this year's FUFA Women Elite League play-offs.

Membe was reacting ahead of Thursday's game against Buikwe She Red Stars at UCU ground, Mukono.

"We need to win today's game if we are to play the play-offs. She Corporates who are top in our group are beyond us so we have to compete favorably with Buikwe who are our close competitors,"Membe stated.

He added that the three week break has helped his injured players to recover. Buikwe defeated UCU 3-2 in the first round.

She Corporates top the Victoria Group with 28 points, seven above second placed UCU. 

In the Elizabeth Group, Kawempe Muslim is second with 23 points, one below leaders Gafford Ladies. Action in the league will also resume this Saturday and Sunday.

Kawempe are the defending champions after defeating Buikwe 3-2 in the final last year. The winner of the league normally takes home sh3m while the second and third runners-up taking sh2m and sh1m respectively.
