My girlfriend consults her ex on every thing

My girlfriend and I have been together for two years. When we met she had just broken up with her boyfriend of eight years.

 The two were set to get married, but his family rejected her. No matter what the couple did, the family was adamant and the two painfully parted ways. 

I assumed she had moved on from that relationship when we met, which was six months after their break-up, but how wrong I was.

She still puts her ex-boyfriend on a pedestal. She consults him on big and small matters and he is always the first to know whenever she has a challenge or achieved anything.

On many occasions I have told her I am uncomfortable with that behaviour, that it feels like we are three people in the relationship and question her loyalty to me.

 She says since she is not sleeping with her former boyfriend, she sees no problem with their relationship.

 At one time, she said if I was uncomfortable in the relationship, I should leave. I deeply love this woman and do not want to lose her. How can I get her to cut off all ties with her ex-boyfriend?
