Only five of the 21 players summoned by the Uganda Cranes' coach for preparations for the 2017 AFCON qualifier against Botswana turned up for fitness training at Acacia Mall.

They are; Hassan Wasswa, Denis Iguma, Salim Jamal, Faruku Miya and Murshid Juuko. Werder Bremen striker Malvyn Lorenzen arrived in Kampala on Tuesday.

Midfielder Mike Azira (Colorado Rapids) has withdrawn from the Uganda Cranes engagement for the match against Botswana citing a busy schedule with the Major League soccer club. Orlando Pirates' Yassar Mugerwa has filled the gap of Azira.

Team captain Geoffrey Massa, Lorenzen, Emma Okwi and Kizito Luwagga are expected to join the squad for training at Acacia and the KCCA grounds on Wednesday.

The Cranes head to Harare where they will play Zimbabwe in friendly match on May 29 before connecting to Botswana for the qualifier on June 4.
