Kampala Casino win rotary golf tournament

The Rotary District 9211 organised tournament was played under the theme; ‘Equipping Youth with Employability and Entrepreneurship skills’.

Kampala Casino team returned 103 points to win the Rotary Vijana Poa fundraising Golf tournament played at Entebbe Club on Saturday.

Sh4m was raised by the golfers as they played to raise funds towards a charitable cause aimed at creating jobs for the youth.

The Rotary District 9211 organised tournament was played under the theme; ‘Equipping Youth with Employability and Entrepreneurship skills'.

Mohamed Jezan's led the winners with 41 points; Patrick Mugisha added 33 with Hannington Mpiima's 29 ensuring the victors beat their nearest opponents Central Inn by 5 points.

Runners up Central Inn were led by youngster Herman ‘Deco' Mutebi who carded 35 points with Aaron Mugomola (33pts), Mackie Nasser (30pts) and Michael Tumusiime (24pts) ensuring a podium finish.

Led by former national team player Martin Ochaya (35pts), Andrew Byaruhanga (29pts), Davis Kato (29pts) and Samuel Kato (28pts) the Let's Go Travel team finished third in the one-day tournament that attracted 145 players from Kampala and Entebbe.

Bernard Bakamutumaho was the best Rotarian with 34 points while Charles Kagombe (30pts) and Kasozi Kazenga (29pts) were first and second runners up respectively, in the

Ali Juuko, Collins Nuwagira, Andrew Kibaya returned the best individual non-rotarian scores with 41, 38 and 37 points respectively while Irene Nakalembe (35pts) and Gloria Mbaguta (33pts) were the top ladies.
