Vipers scored four minutes from time to win 1-0 which didn’t go well with some of Express fans

Express FC has been fined sh300,000 following clashes their fans had with those of Vipers during their APL match in Buikwe on Tuesday.

Vipers scored four minutes from time to win 1-0 which didn't go well with some of Express fans who resorted to throwing stones on the pitch, which caused a 3 minute halt of proceedings on the field.

Consequently their behaviour has had the Uganda Premier League board invoke Article 33(2) (b) of FUFA Competitions Rules, fining them the said amount which should be paid to UPL Secretariat before their next Azam Uganda Premier League match.

"The UPL Secretariat strongly warns Express FC that should its fans indulge in the acts of violence and hooliganism again, relevant provisions of FUFA circular No: 1013 dated 22nd April 2015, Ref: FUFA/C/004/15shall be applied," a communication from the UPL CEO, Bainamani Bernard Bampaire states.

Now, Express risks being docked points if their fans continue with similar acts of violence in subsequent matches.
