Just mere patrolling of the streets by the police left the Forum Democratic Change (FDC) supporters hiding in Busia town.

The police quell the demonstration without much effort and use of tear gas.

This morning the FDC supporters grouped at the party office along Market Street in Busia town ready to protest the purported rigging of the February polls but only managed to walk along custom road carrying placard reading "Museveni rigged elections but he will not be sworn in"

However, when the district police commander lead his men armed to the teeth, all the protestors fled in all directions leaving the streets empty. This drama unfolded as other people went on their daily chores uninterrupted.

The DPC appealed to the public to shun the country wide demonstration called by the opposition and carry on with their work.
