Sharon Katushabe Babigamba is quiet a humble lady yet a passionate pursuer of what she believes in.

A daughter of a renowned Kabale businessman, is no new comer on the political scene . Like her father, she is an avid supporter of the leading opposition party Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) and advocate for women empowerment.

In 2008, she got married to a city advocate, Bemanyisa Adonijah with who helped ignite Babigamba's interest in politics and real estate development.

In 2011, her strong backing of Dr. Kizza Besigye in Wakiso District where she has a home  with  her husband and her interest in real estate development came to the fore when she allegedly evicted 1000  Bibanja owners in Kajjansi from her land.

The fiery land deputy minister, Nantaba  alleged then that the duo were in cohort to evict Bibanja Owners from their bonafide settlement.

Babigamba on the other pleaded innocent as she had 'bonafidely bought the land in question comprised of Busiro block 375 plot 17 as the highest bidder after a court verdict and not through illegal means her detractors were allegedly.

Both Babigamba and her lawyer husband claim they never sought for help from the office of Inspector General of Police to grab land as alleged in the New Vision of March 1st 2013 and Bukedde newspaper of the same day volume 18 No. 53.

Babigamba said she was disinherited of her land whenNantaba gave her land to alleged bibanja owners despite existence of a court of appeal and High Court decision.

In the suit  No. 1287 of 2000 of the High Court and in the civil application No. 64 of 2011, it was emphasised that John Kyeyune was the rightful owner of the land that Babigamba had bought.

The young entrepreneur claims that her political inclination was the source of her woes irrespective of her bonafideness.

In 2016 presidential elections, she continued to offer moral and financial support to her favored presidential candidate Dr. Kiiza Besigye as the member of power 10 in Wakiso District based in Nansana Town council.

On 18th February 2016 When the Uganda Electoral Commission failed to deliver electoral materials  in many polling stations of Wakiso and  it later apologized, Babigamba  was instead  handpicked from her Nsumbi Primary School polling station by persons claiming to be Uganda police for allegedly inciting the youth who burnt the voting boxes that had arrived late at 4pm without any ballot papers.

She went missing for 3 weeks until news dropped in that her and other youth activists where  being detained at  Nalufunye Police Station in Jinja.

She was released from when Mr. Basalirwa Asuman one of the lawyers on Amama Mbabazi legal team in the presidential petition  in the supreme court raised the issue of illegal detention of their supporters to the chief justice.

She was released without any criminal charges and there was no trace in the criminal register book of any offences that she had allegedly committed.

The husband being a lawyer discouraged her from suing the government especially since her land issues were still in court.

Babigamba told the New Vision she is saddened that she missed  casting her presidential vote in the last elections due to her  arrest and detention.
