ABRIDGED JOB ADVERTISMENT

1. The Government of Uganda embraced the identification of natural gas and all deposits in the Albertine Graben. Consequently all companies were contracted for exploration and refinement of the crude oil in the Lake Albert basin. Three companies joined forces as Joint Venture Partners (JVP). The JVP are Tullow Uganda Operations Ply Ltd (Tullow), Total E & P Uganda Ltd (Total) and China National Offshore Oil Corporation Uganda (CNOOC). The JVP undertook a study and identified various sub-sectors which are important for the sustaining development of the Lake Albert Basin and among others included; Agriculture (Crops, Animals and Fisheries).

2. The overall goal of the project is to strengthen existing agriculture production and commercial practices and enhance the supply chain of agricultural goods and services to the oil and gas development interventions and the developing market opportunities in the region and beyond. In view of the above background, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries, wishes to invite suitably qualifying Ugandan citizens (candidates) to fill the following vacant positions at the Project Coordination Unit (PCU) Secretariat as follows:-

a. Research Officer

b. Enterprise Development Officer

c. Community Liaison Officer

d. Project Driver

3. Applications should be filled on Public Service Form 3 (Revised) and submitted to the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries, P.O. Box 102, Entebbe, not later than 5pm, Friday 6th May, 2016. The forms can be picked from the Public Service Commission, Ministry of Agriculture Headquarters and Government Ministries, Departments and District Service Commissions' Offices. Applicants who will not hear from us within 3 weeks should consider themselves unsuccessful. All jobs are on contract basis for a period of one year, renewable up to the end of the project based on satisfactory performance and includes a six months probationary period.
