St.Mary's College Kisubi (SMACK) beat defending champions Hana Mixed 5-0 to lift the 2016 schools rugby league title at Namilyango College on Sunday.

Timothy Odongo scored SMACK's try in the first half and the team defended to the last minute in game that kept the fans cheering throughout the entire game.

"We just had a good defence, managed to control possession and had several turnovers which frustrated our opponents,"coach Paul Ssekatte stated.

SMACK victory ended a seven year trophy drought.

In the other games of the day, Steven Kalema scored a try and conversion to give Kololo secondary school a 7-0 victory over London College.

In the U-15 category, Namilyango college got a 28-0 walkover against Kings College Budo
