Old skool nights are quite littered on Kampala's night scene nowadays but only a select few of DJ's put on good performances for older audiences.

That is partly due to lack of rich music knowledge or just scared to lose anyone on the dance floor. One of the few old skool deejays, Alberto Alipacho known by his stage name, DJ Alberto, has that knack to keep them wiggling it like the good old times.

Simple, he has been spinning the discs for 29 years and now knows his way around as guests witnessed at his 29th deejaying anniversary at Guvnor Club, Friday night.

Partygoers across generations attended in their hundreds, clad mainly in black and white to follow the dress code. DJ Alberto sauntered in calmly through the main entrance around 1:30am, escorted by a bevy of young girls holding bright fireworks candles.

Not that his guests were roused to welcome him with a standing-ovation-kind of but, well, the man had arrived, smiling and waving to everyone. He gave a small speech before getting into the DJ's booth to officially take his fans down memory lane.

His mix swung revelers on current RnB, fusing it with the 70s disco and funk alongside Africa's soukous and a little bit of the new jack swing. It was a fair evening for all.
