Hosts Old Kampala SS lifted the COPA Coca-Cola Championship trophy without sweat after Kibuli SS boycotted the final match on Friday.

The two-month-long tournament ended in anti-climax after Kibuli refused to play, claiming that the poor state of the pitch favoured their opponents.

Prior to the boys' final however, Kibuli SS fell 2-0 to Kawempe Muslim SS in the girls' final on the same turf.

"We are very disappointed by such behavior. This is unsporting conduct," said organizing committee official, Ayub Kalifa.

Both Kibuli and Old Kampala, however, qualified to represent Kampala in the national final due in Teso College, Aloet in Soroti next month on May 14-28.

Other teams from Kampala are Kawempe Muslim SS, St. Mary's Heritage School and Kitebi Light SS who beat Bishop Cypriano SS to fifth place.

Nine-time former champions Kibuli will be seeking to regain honours in Soroti against top teams including defending champion St. Mary SS Kitende.
