Gov't to borrow sh36b for power extension

Cabinet has approved a loan of $11.2m (sh36b) for power extension to six districts, information and national guidance minister, Maj. Gen. Jim Muhwezi, has announced.

They include: Kasese, Bushenyi, Kibaale, Kiryandongo, Nebbi and Rukungiri.

The minister told a news conference in Kampala on Thursday that the loan will be acquired from Kuwait Fund for Economic Development.

Muhwezi said that the minister of finance will soon table the resolution to Parliament for approval.
