Omar ready to challenge Kiggundu, Blick

Last month Omar won the MX125cc class while Kiggundu won the MX2 category

Despite having an inferior bike, Ali Omar Yasser has vowed to give rivals Fatuh Kiggundu and Alistair Blick a run for their money when the they meet in the second round of the Mountain Dew National Motocross Championship in Busiika on Easter Sunday.

Omar on KTM 125cc bike said told New Vision that he is ready to take on Kiggundu and Blick who are riding 250cc bikes.

"I want to take them on and challenge them. I know they will give good competition to improve my standards as my dad works on buying me a 250cc bike," Omar stated after training in Busiika.

Last month Omar won the MX125cc class while Kiggundu won the MX2 category in a heated showdown at Victoria Raceway Park Garuga.

However, Fatuh Kiggundu has vowed to overlap his rivals come Sunday.

"What was affecting me is a bike, but now that I have got a strong bike I will be out to overlap them," Kiggundu stated.

Blick joins the MX1 battle

Meanwhile Arthur Blick Jr has joined the battle between Uganda's MX1 Champion Maxime Van Pee and visiting South Africa's Brittany Cuthbert in the second round of the Mountain Dew National Motocross Championship on Easter Sunday.

"I was preparing for the rally which was on the same weekend with motocross, but now that the rally has been postponed, I'm in the battle and fans will get value for their money," Blick stated.

"I have not been training but with the experience I experience I have, I just one or two days to acclimatise and I show them fire," the 10 time MX1 National champion stated.

"I will put pressure on them (Maxime and Cuthbert) so that any mistake they make I take charge," he added.

22 year old Cuthbert who is the 2013, 2014 Africa women champion arrived in the country on Wednesday and will be training Ugandan riders and encouraging the female riders to stay focused in the sport.
