Van Pee ready to tackle African champ Cuthbert

Cuthbert will be joined by Ugandan female riders who have vowed to give their male counterparts a run for their money

South African female rider Brittany Cuthbert arrives for the second round of Mountain Dew National Motocross Championship on Easter Sunday at Busiika.

Cuthbert, who is both the South African and African Champion also train Uganda riders on Thursday and Good Friday ahead of the event where she will take on Uganda's Maxime Van Pee.

"She is good and I'm ready for her" Van Pee said.

Cuthbert will be joined by Ugandan female riders who have vowed to give their male counterparts a run for their money in the different classes.

Gloria Lugya, Isabella Blick, Esther Mwangala, Alexia Van Pee, Abigail Mwangala, Aminah Zawedde and Shamirah Kateete will battle boys in the MX2, 85cc, 65cc and 50cc categories respectively.

In the 50cc category Isabella Blick told New Vision Sport that she won the opening round of the national championship and she is not ready to lose to anyone on Sunday.

"Alon Orland and Gift Ssebuguzi are the biggest challengers but I'm ready for them and I'm going for a win," 7 yr old Isabella stated.

In the 65cc category Easter Mwangala and Alexia Van Pee will battle boys who include Milton Akaki, Akena Obote, Imran Nkurunziza, Keyaan Mayanja, Malcom Lubega and Stav Orland.
