I am recovering, says Samona

City businessman, Michael Mukasa Kasawuli commonly known as 'SAMONA' has said he is steadily recovering from a swollen foot.

Kasawuli, who became a household name because of his Samona Jelly products, has been nursing a swollen foot, which he had earlier taken to be Ettalo, a witchcraft-related illeness in Buganda.

"No one has bewitched me, the sickness is steadily healing. I am using local herbs to relax the pain," he said.

Samona has had endless problems in the recent past, including marital ones.

Annet Nakalembe, one of the tenants at Natete shopping centre, which belongs to Samona, told New Vision that he and one of his wives, Lillian Nafuna developed miss-understandings after Nafuna told him that the three children don't belong to him.

A few days ago, Nafuna dragged Samona to Central Police Station (CPS) in Kampala over failure to pay school fees for their three children, which Samona refuted saying that he opened up a beer depot business for her to cater for the school fees of the children.

Last year, Nafuna stormed Pacify Hotel in Wakaliga, which belongs to Samona and allegedly burnt his clothes, accusing him of adultery and neglecting their children.

Nafuna was arrested and taken to the Old Kampala Police Station, where she was detained for two days before she was  released on a police bond.
Troubles started in 2014, when Samona suspected Nafuna of cheating on him with other men. Since then, Samona abandoned the couple's home in  Najjanankumbi but kept looking after the family.

Samona has three official wives. Three years ago, he was embroiled in a quarrel with Singer Mathias Walukaaga, over a girl identified as Hadija. The war saw Walukaaga imprisoned for one week before they opted to settle the matter out of court.
