Lukwago predicts 70% win in Kampala

Independent candidate Erias Lukwago has predicated to win the Kampala mayoral elections with 70 percent.

In a brief interview with journalists shortly after casting his vote at Bulwa polling station in Wakaliga Nateete, Lukwago said he was sure of victory.

He however expressed concern over the low voter turnout which he attributed to the lack of trust in the Electoral Commission.

"With this poor turn up, we are likely to get below 50% of the total turnout out of the one million voters we have in Kampala," said Lukwago.

Lukwago was in 2013 impeached by 29 Kampala City Counci Authority councilors over incompetence.

He is facing Democratic Party's Isa Kikungwe and NRM's Daniel Kazibwe also known as Ragga Dee.
