He is currently serving a five years sentence in Luzira Prison, after he was in June 2013 found guilty on 29 counts of fraud, abuse of office, forgery and unlawful possession of government stores.

Kazinda is still on trial on charges of embezzlement, false accounting and conspiracy to commit a felony jointly with a number of other officials he worked with in the OPM.

A person found guilty of embezzlement is liable to imprisonment of up to 14 years.
