Museveni said he’d heard of the day but the most important aspect of love is being transparent to each other

As lovers prepare for Valentine's Day on 14th February, President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has advised lovers to be truthful and have confidence in each other.

Museveni made the remarks while answering a question from a journalist on whether he knew about Valentine's Day. This was during a media interview at State House Nakasero on Tuesday.

He said he'd heard of the day but the most important aspect of love is being transparent to each other.

"Although I may not know about Valentine's Day, I've heard about it. For lovers, to have total confidence in one other, be transparent and share everything is very crucial" Museveni said.

Museveni also advised parents on good parenting to raise responsible citizens in the country because at times children are misled by their peers.

He revealed that even with his busy schedule he has always managed to spare time to talk to his children.
