Fred Enanga, the Uganda Police Force's spokesperson has blamed the Kamuswaga of Kooki, Apollo Sansa Kabumbuli II, for the manner in which he was handled and arrested by the Vice President's security team.

The Police spokesman made the comments while appearing on a morning show on NBS TV, a Kampala based TV station.

According to Enanga, the manner in which one is arrested depends on one's cooperation at the time of arrest. "The cultural leader resisted arrest.

"The Kamuswaga was personally driving a car that didn't have an official emblem or flag to identify him as a cultural leader, and was dressed casually," said Enanga.

He added that it was quite difficult for the Vice President's security detail to ascertain who the Kamuswaga was hence their reaction.

The Kamuswaga was last week arrested and detained by the Vice President's security team after the cultural leader attempted to overtake the Vice President's convoy.

Enanga also apologised to the people of Kooki and the Kamuswaga for the way he was handled by the Police.
