Prisons' spokesperson Frank Baine said Ssejjusa has not been accorded any special treatment

The Uganda Prison Services has stripped General David Sejusa of all titles and is currently being treated like any other inmate according to prisons officials.

Sejusa was remanded to Luzira Prisons on Tuesday after he was charged with 5 counts before the General Court Martial in Makindye.

Prisons' spokesperson Frank Baine said Ssejjusa has not been accorded any special treatment, because he is not entitled to any since he was remanded by court as any other suspect.

"He was admitted like any other prisoner and was helped to settle in like any other prisoner. There is no special treatment because for us, inmates are inmates and their rights are observed" Baine said.

"He has to dress like any other inmate and he has access to services like what other inmates have in terms of food, communication and accommodation" he added.

The former co-coordinator of intelligence services on Friday petitioned the civil court, seeking for orders to stay his trial at the General Court Martial and order for his immediate release.
