Museveni promotes 496 Police officers

Notable among those promoted is SSP Sam Omala.

 

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has promoted 496 Police officers to various ranks ranging from the Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) to Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIGP).

 

Notable among those promoted is Senior Superintendent of Police Sam Omala, who has been the Greater Busoga region deputy commander in the Bukedea sector.

 

The President also promoted 245 officers from the Junior ranks of Inspectorate and Assistant Inspectorate of police to the senior rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP)

 

The Inspector General of Police General Kale Kayihura said this was a big boost to the Police. "These promotions will enhance the programme of professionalisation and modernisation of the Uganda Police Force as well as building effective leadership," said Kayihura.

 

Of those promoted, 5 were promoted to the position of Assistant inspector General of Police, 19 to the Senior Commissioner of Police, 13 to the Commissioner of Police, 30 to the Assistant Commissioner of Police, 52 to the Senior Superintendent of Police, 132 to the Superintendent of Police and 245 to the Assistant Superintendent of Police.
