Police boss charged over Pine Car murder

Baguma is to immediately be committed to the High Court for trial

 

THE Director of Public Prosecutions has ordered the Kampala Central police station boss ASP Aaron Baguma be charged with an alternative charge of kidnap with intent to murder.

According to a letter dated 18 December 2015 written by the Assistant DPP Betty Khisa and addressed to the Buganda Road Resident State Attorney Paul Muwaganya, Baguma is to face murder charges in connection with the Pine car murder case.

Baguma is to immediately be committed to the High Court for trial.

Buganda Road resident state attorney Jonatham Muwaganya confirmed the DPP's directive and said that instructions have already been given to the police to produce Baguma in court not later than 11th January.

Baguma is to be jointly charged with the Pine Car Bond proprietor Muhammad Ssebufu, Philip Mirambe, Stephen Lwanga and Paul Tasingika for the murder of businesswoman Donah Katusabe.
