Barclays bank customers not only have a chance to win fully paid trips to the UK to watch their favourite Premier League teams in action, but for the next two days they are privileged to rub shoulders with the Barclays Premier League trophy.

The trophy which is back in the country after six years will be on display at several bank branches in Kampala, starting Monday, where customers will view and take pictures with it.

Customers will be able to view it at the Barclays Bank head office on Hannington Road in Kampala, Luwum Street and at the Lugogo branches.

The trophy was unveiled to the press on Sunday during a press conference at Serena Hotel in Kampala.

Nazim Mahmood, the Director Retail Banking said they had flown in the trophy to grant their customers a full range of experiences, which will culminate into flying ten people to the UK to watch matches of their choice.

He explained that apart from the trip in March next year for those who open Salary accounts with Barclays, many others stand a chance of winning Barclays Premier League merchandise upon registering  for online banking, from draws that will be held.

Barclays Managing Director Rakesh Jha said the trophy is intended to awaken the passion of the premier league but also the banks products that are on offer.

"We want our customers not only to enjoy the matches but also enjoy our hospitality while there. We have also launched several banking initiatives to make life easy for them, like the chip and pin debit card and the direct debit payment systems among others," Rakesh stated.

"Bringing the trophy to Uganda and giving our customers an opportunity to attend live Premier League matches of a tournament many people around the world are passionate about, is one of the ways of thanking our customers and showing that we care about what matters to them,"
