FUFA has given Sports Club Villa Jogoo a deadline of Friday, November 27, 2015 to commit on representing Uganda at the CAF Confederations Cup or lose the opportunity to KCCA FC.

The ultimatum for Villa to register came after continental soccer governing body CAF has asked FUFA to commit their teams that qualified for both the CAF Champions League and the Confederations Cup by November 30.

Vipers in the clear

Vipers Sports Club will represent Uganda at the CAF Champions League after winning the national league while Villa takes the slot at the Confederations Cup for winning the Uganda Cup.

“Vipers Sports Club have paid the security fee of $10,000 to the FUFA accounts plus the $500 as registration fees. But Villa have asked for more time to be allowed to register later on. FUFA has given them up to November 27 to act or KCCA will take the position,” FUFA Licensing Committee Chairman Bernard Ogwel said.

Ogwel said that KCCA FC, who lost the 2014/2015 Uganda Cup final to Villa have been notified of the impending opportunity and have responded positively.
