The battle for East Africa's golfing crown and bragging rights is between Uganda and Kenya as the 18th edition of the competition comes to an end at the Kigali Golf Club.

Uganda won six games on the second day, both in the four-ball-better-ball and the foursomes in the afternoon to take a one-point lead ahead of day-one leaders Kenya.

But three of the games that would also contribute to the overall standings were not completed due to poor light and would be completed Saturday.

The matches between Uganda's Ronald Otile and Kenya's Kenneth Bollo and that of Bhavanish Chandaria and Tanzania's Martin Mc Donald are some of the games that will be completed today before the final singles round.

Uganda's day-two games were won by Robert Oluba who beat Tanzania's Martin McDonald 4&5 while Ronald Bukenya and Happy Robert were also victors over Ethiopia's Hagos Mulu and Kenya's Keneth Bollo respectively.

In the afternoon foursomes,  Uganda captain Bukenya, Happy and Oluba continued with their winning run against Ethiopia's Tesfaye Gebru, Rwanda's Afrodis Nyirinkwaya and Tanzania's Julius Francis respectively.

Last year Uganda edged Kenya by a point at Entebbe Club to win the annual championship and are fighting to defend it on foreign soil.
