FRIDAY'S highly anticipated league match between SC Villa and Express was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch following the heavy afternoon downpour.

Hundreds of fans who thronged Nakivubo to witness the mouthwatering encounter were left disappaointed and will now have to wait until next week when a new date will be fixed.

Despite desperate attempts fans to dry the pitch and ensure the match was played, center referee Brian Nsubuga called off the game.

Last season SC Villa took six points and six goals off the Red Eagles through boardroom decisions. 

The league resumes today with six games.
