After bagging a top prize of a car and sh2m, Nile Special Open champion, Amos Ndyagumanawe is still basking in glory to think of other plans.

Ndyagumanawe, a seed four player who beat the odds to overcome number one seed Alfred Gumikiriza 7-5 to bag the accolade at Lugogo on Saturday is still in a party frenzy with friends.

The victory earned the champion a Toyota Mark II Grande which, he said, is the beginning of change in his life.

“I am very happy. I feel so good because I can see some good changes in front of me,” the dread-locked haired observed.

“Now that I have got a car I have got to lead a different life. I have to live like a champion. I am no longer just a pool player but a pool champion,” added the 26-year-old Skin Samona Pool club player.

Asked about his plans with the car, Ndyagumanawe said; “Right now I am still in the middle of happiness. I have to be sober to think of any plans. We shall talk later.”

It was a sweet revenge for Ndyagumanawe in a repeat of the 2012 final where Gumikiriza emerged champion.

“I am very happy that hard work has paid off for me. I have been riding on boda-bodas but I am happy that I have won a car at last,” said Ndyagumanawe.

For his part, Gumikiriza who acknowledged defeat walked away with sh1.5m and a pool table.

The Nile Breweries sponsored event involved a top cream of 128 players from all regions of the country.

Defending champion Fahad Ssewankambo  fell to Humphrey Nsubuga 5-2 in the quarterfinals.
