The Ultimate Frisbee network in Uganda is courting University Students and local Communities to engage in Frisbee as one of its strategies to bolster the rare sport in the country.

The Ultimate Frisbee network in Uganda is courting University Students and local Communities to engage in Frisbee as one of its strategies to bolster the rare sport in the country.


“We are trying to take the sport where there are big numbers and we are happy university students especially MUBS Students are showing interest in the sport. Communities are also receptive and we are establishing clubs there” Said Charity Ineza, National development coordinator.

At least three community Clubs in Gulu, Masaka and Makindye are on a steady progress and they have had players inducted in the Kampala Ultimate Frisbee club notable among them is Jamil Kisitu who has become arguably the best player at the Club.

Meanwhile Fenix international have injected 1,000USD in the All Africa Frisbee championships on Saturday at Kyaddondo Rugby grounds.

“We are privileged to sponsor the first All Africa Frisbee Championships in the Country and hope the competition will grow awareness about this exciting sport. ”Said Lyndsay Handler, managing director  Fenix Uganda. The competition will attract different teams from Uganda, Kenya and Rwanda.
