Uganda Cranes head coach Milutin 'Micho' Sredojevic hopes to use the Cranes Na-Mutima Regional Tour in Masindi to widen the pool of home based players for their engagement against Sudan and Togo in the next two months.

The Uganda Cranes pool of home based players resume training in Kampala on Saturday and Micho told the FUFA weekly press conference that he needs at least three players per position as he widens the number of players for national duty.

Micho however said that preparations for CHAN will have to go hand in hand with the one for the World Cup 2018 qualifier against Togo in November and AFCON qualifier against Burkina Faso next March.

"The focus now is on Sudan and Togo. We need at least four outings for both teams. We are looking for friendly matches that can give the team components of Arab and francophone styles of play," Micho explained.

Uganda plays udan on October 19 and 24 in Kampala and Khartoum respectively. The World Cup 2018 qualifier against Togo is also slated for November 11 and 14 at home and away.

The Uganda Cranes returned from Comoros last night where they won 1-0 courtesy of Tonny Mawejje's 22nd minute goal. The Cranes now lead group D ahead of the double header clash with Burkina Faso in March 2016.

"We plan to have friendly matches on the internationally recognised FIFA days. We look towards sharping the locally based players through the Cranes Na-Mutima campaigns," Micho said.

Uganda shall host Sudan on October 17 in the first leg of the CHAN 2016 qualifiers. The return leg will be on October 24th in Khartoum.
